Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho


Paulo Coelho is employed at the University of Porto, Portugal, in the Mechanical Engineering Department. At the University of Porto, he earned his mechanical engineering degree in 1987, his master's degree in thermal engineering in 1991, and his doctorate in mechanical engineering in 2000. He has been employed at the University of Porto since 1987.

His work primarily focuses on heat transfer characteristics, hydrodynamics, and analytical solutions for laminar flows of non-Newtonian fluids inside ducts. As part of master's theses completed in cooperation with the businesses Metalsolvus and Ramada Aços, he has also produced work in the area of improving heat treatments of steel parts.

To date, he has published 31 peer-reviewed articles in international journals with an author’s h-index of 16, excluding self-citations. He is also the author of the book "Thermodynamic Tables," 4th Edition, LIDEL, 2017.
